What is the theme & story for this week?
Winnie the Pooh and friends, the world's most lovely characters, have inspired everyone about friendships, love, and life itself. There are so many heartwarming quotes in the story. 😍 😆 For this week, I want to share Piglet’s story. Let’s watch a short animated film “If I Wasn't So Small” by Disney. Indeed, this reminded me that even the smallest action can be very helpful, so please don’t underestimate yourself. ✨
Here is a brief history of Winnie the Pooh. The story was created by English author A. A. Milne and English illustrator E. H. Shepard. In 1961, the Walt Disney Production licensed certain films and other rights of Milne's Winnie the Pooh stories. Disney has created a lot of films, merchandise, and theme park attractions with these cute characters. Also, you can find out more interesting facts about the Pooh in Ellie’s post. I did not know there are streets named after Winnie the Pooh in Poland and Budapest.
Who are you in this story?
What is your role in the story? Are you like Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Roo, or Eeyore? Each of them has a unique personality. I love all of them, especially, Eeyore tells us that it is OK to feel sad (as long as it doesn’t harm you.) The characters also show how we embrace other’s differences with respect.
Let theme spark in your everyday life
Experience 1. A handwritten note is always special!
I love handwriting even though I became spend a lot of time using a smartphone and a laptop. It is a great way to show how much you care about someone. Just like Pooh and friends wrote a letter to Tigger to help cheer him up, why don’t you start to write something kind to your loved one? You don’t need to wait until a special day such as a Birthday or Christmas day. You can simply present a special moment with your handwritten card. 📝 💕
Experience 2. Interact with the storybook.
There is a dark ride1 attraction named The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. It is one of the most popular attractions in Disney theme parks. Based on the official website, guests will travel through Hundred-Acre Wood in an oversized Hunny Pot and get lost in the pages of A.A. Milne’s classic tales. Literally, guests can enter giant storybook pages with the Pooh and friends that come to life. (Check the POV ride video)
This attraction reminded me of pop-up books. Reading a colorful and creative pop-up book is a fun experience for everyone! 🤗 You can not only read but also touch and interact with the book. I love it!
